Botany Bay Bead
£10.79
A lampwork glass bead inspired by the pretty sand beach with rock pools at Botany Bay Bead in Kent. Collect our glass charms to create unique beach jewellery.

Botany Bay is a bay in Broadstairs, Kent. It is a pretty sand beach with rock pools and a backdrop of chalk cliffs with a chalk stack. Botany Bay is a popular film location and with walkers along the Viking coastal trail and Kent Coastline walk. It is also a great place for water sports and fossil hunting.
Our pretty Botany Bay bead has been created using a white glass base bead portraying the chalk cliffs. The bead is then carefully rolled in a handmade glass frit (small shards of coloured glass) of red and blue. Using a special tool the surface of the bead is carefully pulled in different directions to make swirling patterns. These patterns represent the swirling water. Our Botany Bay bead is then tumbled to give it a matte finish.
Our Botany Bay beads are handmade by Sarah in our studio in Braunton, North Devon.
We try to keep the patterns on our beads as consistent as possible but due to the nature of each one being individually handmade, please except there to be variations in each bead...this is what makes your Nalu unique!
