Whitsand Bay Bead
Whitsand Bay is situated in south east Cornwall only 7 miles from Plymouth. This bay is actually a sequence of beaches that run from Rame Head in the east to Portwrinkle in the west. It has dramatic scenery with sheer high cliffs with long stretches of sandy beaches.
One of the reasons for choosing to make a Whitsand Bay bead is that this beach has amazing surf! People are often put off as it is not as accessible as other Cornish beaches but it's well worth the walk along the steep paths to get to one of the best beaches in Cornwall. With it's strong rip currents it is more popular amongst the more experienced surfer and divers.
When designing this bead we wanted it to represent the dramatic coastline hence choosing a deep blue with a rich green. The white twists represent both the crashing waves and soaring cliffs as well as the sequence of beaches dotted along this stretch.
