Trebarwith Strand Bead
Trebarwith Strand lies on the North Cornwall coast, about 2 miles from Tintagel. It has nearly a kilometre of sandy beach overlooked by cliffs, dotted with caves and rock pools...a beach explorers dream! It also picks up plenty of swell for all you wave hunters!
We wanted to capture the rolling Atlantic waves against the steep cliffs of The Strand. To do this we found a speciality glass that combines ivory and lapis together which gives a lovely mottled effect when melted. We used this on one half of the bead and clear glass on the other. Whilst its still molten we twist the glass together to create a wave. It has then been decorated with little white dots of sea foam. We have then tumbled this bead to give it a lovely frosted sea glass appearance.
