Thurlestone Bead
Thurlestone is a village about 5 miles west of Kingsbridge in the South Hams district of South Devon. It takes its name from Thurlestone Rock, or ‘Thirled Stone’, an ancient shaped arched rock just off Thurlestone Bay. It has two beautiful sandy beaches and is part of an area of outstanding natural beauty. This area has also won an award from the Marine Conservation Society due to its beautiful clean waters. Thurlestone has an exposed reef break which works best in offshore winds with southerly swells.
Inspired by rock formations under the shimmering waters we placed random dots of dark green and lapis glass on a small base bead and added a bit of sparkle! We then encased the bead in teal glass to give it depth and capture the crystal waters of this beach.
