Malibu Bead

Malibu is a beach city in Los Angeles, California. It sits west from the metropolis of LA and a short distance from Santa Monica. Famous for its fabulous sandy beaches and surf, not to mention being home to many Hollywood stars! Locals call it ‘the Bu’ and has been a popular surf break for well over 70 years now. The point at Malibu has three sections, each having something to offer all surfers from fast barrelling sections to hot-dogger peelers. This awesome surf point inspired the local board makers to invent the famous Malibu board or Mal as we call them today.

Perfect waves were the inspiration behind this bead hence the layers of different colours of blue representing swell lines coming onto the point. We layered stripes of cobalt, teals and turquoises one on top of the other and twisted them together at a central point creating the perfect wave.
