Far away from the crowds Hartland Point can be found at the north west tip of Devon.

The entire peninsular has been classed as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it's easy to see why. This part of Devon’s Atlantic coastline is truly spectacular and has it’s fair share of secret surf spots. The drama created by the incredible contorted rock formations are a stark contrast to the lush secluded woodland valleys that spill down into the sea. You will find seals, ship wrecks and waterfalls and rock pools revealed at low tide.

Inspired by a dark moody day on North Devons exposed coast path at Hartland Point we decided on a pale grey glass for the base of the bead. A white dot has then been placed on the surface to represent the iconic lighthouse. The beads is then rolled in black frit, tiny shards of glass, which look like the sharp dark rocks that pierce the ocean surface below the lighthouse. The bead is then tumbled to give it a matt sea weathered effect.

Our Hartland Point beads are made in our studio in Braunton, North Devon.

We try our very best to keep the patterns on our beads as consistent as possible but due to the nature of each one being individually handmade, please except there to be variations in each bead...this is what makes your Nalu unique!
