The Elephant Bead
This beautiful new charity collection is sold in support of the World Wildlife Fund and inspired by their Adopt an Animal program. We will be donating £2 from each bead and £5 from each bracelet (coming soon) sale to the WWF.
A statement from the World Wildlife Fund...
'We’re WWF, the leading global environmental charity, and we’re bringing our world back to life. With nature in freefall, we’re urgently tackling the underlying causes that are driving the decline, and we’re finding solutions so future generations have a world with thriving habitats and wildlife. It’s a huge challenge, but if we all act together, there is hope.'
This bead is inspired by African and Asian elephants who are under constant threat from poaching with around 55 elephant being killed every day for their tusks. The core of this bead is made with a dark grey glass that we have rolled over a spiky 'pin frog' to give it texture before encasing it with a transparent grey glass before wrapping the surface of the bead with a grey glass 'trunk'.
Each bead is individually handmade in our studio in Braunton, North Devon.
