Porthcawl Bead

Porthcawl Bead

A glass bead inspired by Porthcawl surf spot in Wales. Collect our keepsake glass beads and create unique charm bracelets, necklaces and other surfer jewellery.

Porthcawl is a town on the south coast of Wales in the county of Bridgend and lies between Swansea and Cardiff. Porthcawl has a number of beautiful sandy beaches and is surrounded by varied coastline. The promenade runs alongside the beach of volcanic rock. The beaches are popular with visitors, including families, walkers and surfers.

Our beautiful Porthcawl bead has a base of Ivory glass portraying the colour of the sand and volcanic rock. The bead is then carefully decorated in a stripe of turquoise glass depicting the sea. Silver wire is carefully melted on to bead to represent the sunlight reflecting off of the water.

Our Porthcawl beads are made by Sarah in our studio in Braunton, North Devon.

We try our very best to keep the patterns on our beads as consistent as possible but due to the nature of each one being individually handmade, please except there to be variations in each bead...this is what makes your Nalu unique!
