Glenshee Bead - Scotland
Glenshee is Scotland’s biggest ski area and situated in the southern part of the Cairngorms National park in the Scottish highlands. It runs across three valleys. It is popular with skiing, snowboarding and sledding with 40km of slopes.
The sun reflecting on the snow, shadows of the mountains and evening sunsets inspires our pretty Glenshee bead. The bead is created by making a small base bead in white glass, which is then rolled in hand-blended frit (tiny shards of coloured glass) which is then heated at a high temperature to allow the colours to swirl around. The bead is then encased in a clear glass to add depth. The bead is then carefully wrapped in two white lines around the sides to create a window in the middle of the bead.
