Wembury Bead

Wembury is a village on the south coast of Devon very close to Plymouth. The beach is well known for its surfing and rock pooling. Through the summer months you might be lucky enough to spot a basking shark near the Mewstone.
Wembury produces some good fun waves for all surfing abilities. The waves is mainly a left with some fairly long rides to be had on the right day. On a spring low tide with a big swell running you can get some steep take offs into closeout barrels, super fun for bodyboarders!
Our inspiration behind our Wembury bead was to capture its dramatic coastline, rocks and rock pools. We decided the bead would need contrasting colours of blue, green and ivory inspired by the crashing waves on the shoreline. A black line to represent the rocks on the shore and a sequence of dots to portray the rock pools.
