Lyme Regis Bead

The historic town of Lyme Regis lies nestled amongst the cliffs where Devon meets Dorset. Renowned for its rich heritage, stunning scenery and fossil rich cliffs this is destination not to be missed!

We wanted our Lyme Regis bead to be special and represent this amazing piece of ancient coastline as much as possible. We have made the core of this bead using a glass called New Ivory which creates swirled layers of light and dark ivory and brown when melted to look like the mixture of sand, pebble and limestone beaches around the town. It has then been encased in light amber before being wrapped with a stringer of a speciality glass called intense black. The bead is then heated until the stringers start to split and create a lace like structure that look like fossils laid into the surface of the bead.
