Hastings
Hastings is a seaside town and resort in East Sussex, known for the battle of Hastings in 1066. Hastings has a shingle beach but exposes sand when the tide is out. Hastings town has a lovely mix of modern life and tradition and along the 3 mile stretch of seafront you will find a Victorian pier, a two-layered promenade, the fishing port and the Norman ruins of Hastings castle looking over the English Channel.
Our pretty Hastings bead is created with a special blend of frit, shards of coloured glass, in pretty greens and blues. These colours depict the green hills in the background of the town and the colours found in the sea. The colours are initially heated to such a high temperature that they begin to swirl together. The frit is then decorated by being rolled when on the bead and left proud to add texture.
